- Maranatha Memorial Golf Classic
Begins Monday September 13th, 2010.
September is right around the corner and so is the Maranatha Memorial Golf Classic. Teams of 4 each raise at least $500 and golf on September 13 to raise money for Maranatha's scholarship fund. This fund enables us to let every kid who wants to come to camp be here. This is important in that there are so many single parent families who just can't afford to send their children to camp as well as two parent families who are also struggling. We want every child to be able to attend. Won't you help us by spreading the word to the kind hearted golfers you know or supporting the efforts of one of the teams playing. - Rail Fest Skate & Create Rock Concert
Begins Saturday September 18th, 2010.
Rail Fest Skate & Create Rock Concert featuring the alternative rock styling of the Skeptics. Cody Park Ball Field #2 (near the train display) 7:30-10:30p, $5 at the door. Concessions available. All benefits go to Skate & Create to help build the Skate Plaza for NP youth.
- Skate & Create Skate Competition
Begins Saturday September 25th, 2010.
Skate Competition at the North Platte Skate Park Saturday September 25th. Warm up 9-10a. Skate competition starts at 11a sharp! Cash prizes. All skill levels. $15 entry fee. Proceeds go toward the new Skate Plaza for NP youth. Sign ups at NP Rec Center. Parental consent form must be signed if under 18.
- Alzheimer's Memory Walk
Begins Sunday September 26th, 2010.
Alzheimers Memory Walk will be held in Cody Park on Sunday, September 26th. Registration is at 1p, Walk at 1:30p. Team up to end Alzheimer's. Walk together to make a difference in the fight. - Pedal To End Polio
Begins Saturday October 2nd, 2010 10:00 AM CDT.
The North Platte Sunrise Rotary Club is sponsoring the "Pedal To End Polio" bike ride on Saturday October 2nd beginning at 10 a.m. at the Lake Maloney Golf Club, located on the southwest side of the lake. The $15 entry fee is due by September 25th and includes lunch and a T-shirt. Registration will be allowed the day of the ride beginning at 9 a.m. but T-shirts cannot be guaranteed for late registrations. All proceeds help Rotary eradicate polio and support our community through improvement projects. - Maranatha Bible Camp Quilt Retreat
Begins Friday October 15th, 2010.
Maranatha Bible Camp announces their Quilt Retreat 2010. The dates are October 15-17 at the camp, just 13 miles east of North Platte on I-80, exit 190. Quilters with a range of quilting skills from beginner to experienced are welcome. Stephanie Grace Whitson is the featured speaker. The public may attend at 7 pm Saturday night only to hear her speak for only $5. Rates and other details for the event can be found on the website at www.maranathacamp.org.
