A nightmarish road trip ended in excruciating fashion for the Colorado Rockies. Trailing 5-2 in the ninth inning, the Rox rallied to score two runs and load the bases with two outs but could not push the tying run home in a 5-4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday afternoon. The loss is Colorado's fifth in a row and wrapped up a four-game sweep for the Phillies, the first time the Rox have been swept this year. Jason Hammel took his third loss in as many starts since the All-Star break for the Rockies. After a 2-9 road trip the Rockies return home tonight to begin a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. ESPN Radio 1410 brings you all of the action, with pregame coverage at 7:05 and the first pitch at 7:40.

North Platte's Anna Woodhead contributed to a winning effort at the Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star girls basketball game in Lincoln last night. Woodhead, the former Lady Bulldog, scored six points for the Red team as they routed the Blue team 62-47, holding the Blue team to 17 percent shooting on the night. Woodhead will play for North Platte Community College this coming season. In the boys All-Star game the Red team, which featured Dundy County-Stratton's Kendal Glidden, won a thriller 82-81. Tonight on ESPN Radio 1410, the Colorado Rockies return home to Coors Field and hope to reverse their recent ill fortune when they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Pregame coverage at 7:05, first pitch at 7:40.

The Denver Broncos agreed to terms on a four year contract with third-round draft choice Eric Decker yesterday. Decker, the 87th overall pick of the NFL Draft, starred at wide receiver at Minnesota. He caught 84 passes for over a thousand yards in his junior year, but a foot injury limited him to just 50 catches as a senior. The contract is reportedly worth about 2.325 million dollars with a signing bonus of 732 thousand dollars. The Broncos have now signed all but their first three draft picks – first rounders Tim Tebow and Demaryius Thomas and second rounder Zane Beadles. Tonight on ESPN Radio 1410, the Colorado Rockies come back to Coors Field to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Pregame coverage at 7:05, first pitch at 7:40.
